Sean was born in Houston, Texas on September 22, 1969, but called West Windsor, N.J. home for 35 years. He was a 1988 graduate of West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South and held a bachelors degree from Seton Hall University as well as a masters degree from Lehigh University.
As a youngster, Sean enjoyed team sports including baseball and soccer. He was also a member of the West Windsor High School marching band. Sean was attracted to sports with some risk like skiing, scuba diving, and rappelling. He always seemed to meet adversity with a challenge. With his love of flying he discovered he could become a licensed glider pilot. After taking lessons, he received his license in Arizona, and would fly gliders for 3 to 4 hrs. at a time at 8,000 to 10,000 ft. elevation. This was a “high” for Sean and a chance to fulfill a dream.
While in high school, Sean found his calling when he made the decision to join the Twin “W” First Aid Squad as a cadet and the Princeton Jct. Volunteer Fire Co. because he liked to help people. This became his passion for the next 25 yrs. Even while away at Seton Hall University, he joined the local South Orange First Aid Squad, and at Lehigh University joined their First Aid Squad. He enjoyed this work so much that he taught and mentored many future squad members. Sean held nearly every elected office and countless other volunteer positions within the company. From 2006 to 2010, he was chief of the Twin “W” EMS Squad. Sean set the example for everyone who served under him by living his life in the service of others.
Sean was always the first person to volunteer to do anything that needed to be done. Even though he was the Chief, he led by example by participating in as many training programs as he could, and spent countless hours training members in all aspects of EMS.
Sean spent many nights writing countless letters of recommendation for our college bound members, to help increase their chances to be accepted by the most prestigious medical schools in the nation.
Most importantly, Sean was a considerate, generous friend to many. Whether it was visiting someone while they were sick, giving advice or just listening or sharing an event, Sean was always there. Truly, this fit God’s chosen plan for him and created a large network of friends.
Sean really loved spending time with his family. His favorite activity was taking his nieces for ice cream at Thomas Sweet. With this foundation we are pleased that we are honoring him by caring for each other and those around us, just as he did.
